We fully understand that for a young Black girl to become strong, successful, and self-reliant, she must have access to resources, be able to leverage the power of social capital and be assured and affirmed by a village of supporters.

How We Give

Founded by women who grew up in or currently live in Birmingham, Alabama, the Brilliant Black Girl Collective invests in the educational pursuits of girls graduating from Birmingham City Schools who plan to pursue post-secondary education.

Your Support

The Brilliant Black Girl Collective graciously accepts contributions of any size to support the annual distribution of educational scholarships for certifications, trade schools, community colleges, or four-year universities.

History

In May 2021, fifty Founding Members—who either were born in Birmingham, live in Birmingham, or care about Birmingham—pooled personal financial resources to create pathways for deserving Black girls in Birmingham City High Schools. They believed they deserved a chance to be assured and affirmed with the financial backing, seasoned guidance, and expertise.
